This article includes instructions to troubleshoot the touchprobe touch probe on P2 Machines featuring a PH6 probe head and a TP-20 or TP-200 probe module.

...

  1. Check the lights of the probe module and probe head when attaching and touching the probe carefully with a finger.

    1. For TP-20:

      1. The PH6 LED should be off when the TP-20 module is not attached

      2. The PH6 LED should be on when the TP-20 module is attached

      3. Touching the TP-20 module should blink the PH6 probe head LED off, regardless of whether the touch probe is the active sensor in InSpec or not.

    2. TP-200:

      1. The PH6 LED should be on when the TP-200 module is not attached

      2. The PH6 LED should be on when the TP-200 module is attached

      3. Touching the TP-200 module when InSpec is not set to touch probe should cause:
the PH6 probe head LED not to blink but it will remain on
the TP-200 probe module LED should turn on

      4. Touching the TP-200 module when InSpec is set to touch probe should cause:
the PH6 probe head LED to blink off
the TP-200 probe module LED to brighten by an amount commensurate with the probe force as it is deflected.

  2. Check the DIP switches of the PI-200 probe interface. Accessing this box might require disassembling parts of the machine and should only be executed by Micro-Vu dealers.

When the PI-200 box can be accessed, the DIP switch configuration should be compared to the reference which is presented below.
