When the encoder reference marks are not detected, InSpec Classic displays the following error:
This error is usually a defective linear encoder. If replacing the linear encoder does not solve the problem, please proceed to troubleshoot the breakout PCB, Axis Cable, and Logic PCB to determine the faulty component.
This test requires access to Alpha Tune. To open Alpha Tune go to the PC’s C drive, Program Files/MicroVu Corp/InSpecforWindows.
Switch both X and Z axis cables at the Logic PCB and on the X and Z breakout PCBs.
With the E-Stop engaged turn on the machine and enter Alpha-Tune and select Axis 3.
Push the Z-axis past the index mark and verify if the index mark reports.
Switch both X and Z axis Breakout PCBs.
With the E-Stop engaged turn on the machine and enter Alpha-Tune and select Axis 3.
Push the Z-axis past the index mark.
With the machine off swap the X and Z axis cables from the logic PCB.
With the E-Stop engaged turn on the machine and enter Alpha-Tune and select Axis 3.
