InSpec is Micro-Vu’s next generation metrology software combining new technologies and research with the expertise cultivated in InSpec Classic.

InSpec requires a license to use. Each eligible machine purchase entitles the customer to one free activation code for an InSpec license with free updates. InSpec licenses are limited to the PC for which they were activated and are nontransferable. For additional information about InSpec licensing or to purchase additional activation codes, contact your authorized dealer.

InSpec can be used with or without connection to a compatible machine. A built-in machine simulator is included with the base license since InSpec 1.4.0.

InSpec Classic, formerly known as InSpec for Windows, is Micro-Vu’s classic metrology software backed by over two decades of development.

InSpec Classic does not require a license for use, but does require connection to a compatible machine. A machine simulator option is available for separate purchase; contact your authorized dealer for additional information.

InSpec for DOS is the ancestor of InSpec Classic, originally composed of two components: InSpec and InSpecVision.

InSpec for DOS has reached the end of its support lifecycle. Technical guidance is no longer available from Micro-Vu.

Limited residual support or guidance may be available from your authorized authorized dealer from whom you purchased your product.

Formfit is a standalone tool for detailed analysis of 2D datasets, originally developed for use with InSpec Classic. Many applications of Formfit can now be accomplished with InSpec.
