Transfer Settings and Calibrations to A New PC from Existing PC

Backup Existing Settings and Calibrations

To backup existing settings and calibrations:

  1. Close InSpec.

  2. Navigate to C:\ProgramData\Micro-Vu\InSpec folder. This folder might be hidden from Windows Explorer. To navigate to it:

    1. Open Windows Explorer.

    2. Paste the path into the address bar. As shown here.

  3. Copy the content of the folder into a secure location.

Transfer Existing Settings and Calibrations onto A New PC

To use InSpec on a new PC, the activation process needs to be re-performed on the new PC. Before proceeding with this procedure, ensure InSpec is activated and can connect to the machine.

This process will delete settings and calibrations on the target PC.

  1. Close InSpec

  2. Navigate to C:\ProgramData\Micro-Vu\InSpec folder.

  3. From the backup location determined above, except the file License.lic , copy the files and folders then paste into the C:\ProgramData\Micro-Vu\InSpec folder. When prompted to replace files, click β€œYes”.

  4. Open InSpec, settings and calibrations should be restored.
