This troubleshooting article applies only to P2 Machines |
If the machine is not operating and the” information light” at the rear status panel of the machine and the firmware LED on the logic board flashes with the following eight-bit pattern as described here:
0001 1000
Where 0 indicates a short pulse which is 1/4 second and 1 indicates a long pulse which is 1 second long.
This error might occur during initialization if the machine fails to complete the volume finding routine.
The following items provide step by step instructions on how to break down the cause of the issue:
Check in MotorScope that the negative encoder limit, the index mark, and the positive limit are detected and in the right places.
Check the encoder readhead and make sure that it does not blink red when crossing the index mark.
If it does, rephase/recalibrate the encoder.
Make sure that the machine cannot be pushed into a space between the encoder limit and the hard stop where the encoder limit cannot be detected.
