This article shows how to align a component which is held by a rotary like the RSD-60 horizontal. This technique is using two Z-measurements to rotate the axis such that the flat surface is parallel to the X-Y plane of the machine.

Instructions

The following steps give a summary of the basic workflow

  1. create system based on Closest Edge point

  2. create Closed Spline to trace perimeter of the part

  3. create system at the centroid of the part

  4. skew X or Y of system to distance between centroid and spline
