Solution
The diagram below shows the cable connection from the camera through the computer.
Close InSpec and power off the machine
Remove the machine Z cover
Find cable USB-A #1 that connects the camera with the zoom breakout board attached on the left side of the Vertex Z beam. See the picture on the right.
Unplug #1 and plug it into your testing PC or laptop that has already installed the apps mentioned above.
Open IC Capture and the dialogue that pops up will show the active device.
- If there is no device being detected, you may need to unplug/re-plug #1 to your testing PC or laptop, otherwise, this might be a bad cable or camera.
- If you can see the USB 3 camera as shown below, skip this section.
Find cable USB-A #2 as shown from the image below that connects the zoom breakout board with the mainboard.
Unplug #2 from the mainboard and plug into your testing PC or laptop.
Power on the machine (Not in stand by mode)
Repeat step 3 above. Is the camera detected?
- YES, skip this step.
- NO, this may be a defective USB cable #2 but might also be the zoom breakout board.
Unplug cable USB-A #3 from the computer and re-plug it back in or try another USB port.
Repeat step 3 above. Is the camera detected?
