Create Screen Recording

This article presents a simple way of creating a screen recording of for example an InSpec program execution. This workflow can be applied to windows operating systems with the most recent updates and does not require the installation of additional software.

A limitation of the demonstrated workflow is that only a single program window can be recorded. Switching to a different window like the task manager or file explorer is not supported and requires a different program.

This technique also requires a graphics card that supports one of the following:

  • Intel Quick Sync H.260

  • Nvidia NVENC

  • AMD VCE

If this does not apply to your computer please take a look at other alternatives like presented here:

Editing

If you want to trim the video before sending it to the Micro-Vu support team, you can open the video with the windows standard video player “Movies & TV” and select “Trim” in the editing options on the lower right corner.

Uploading

Because of the size limit of email attachments, the best way of providing Micro-Vu Service Agents with the recording is by uploading it to the Micro-Vu Service Center.
