InSpec Failed to Connect to the PC
For Post 2020 Machines, when displaying the error:
When the machine is powered on, but the pendant is stuck amber, it is usually the case that the Logic Board is not booting up.
To see if this is the case, look at the heartbeat LEDs (blue) on the Logic Board. If either heartbeat LED is not toggling, the Logic Board is not booting up.
- If this is the issue, power off the machine, disconnect the temperature sensors from
the Logic Board (connection labeled “TEMP #1” and “TEMP #2” on the top left corner of the Logic Board, and power up the machine.
- If the machine boots up (Both heartbeat LEDs are toggling), then the issue has been resolved.
- If the machine repeats the same symptoms, replace the Logic Board.
If both heartbeat LEDs are toggling, then the Logic Board is booting up. The next most-likely cause of this symptom is that the machine is not able to leave its “startup” state, where it loads configurations, discovers which accessories are currently connected, and attempts to unlock the z-break.
- If the machine has a platen, distance sensor, or Touch Probe (PI-200) installed, power off the machine and disconnect these (the platen and PI-200 should be disconnected from the Logic Board and the distance sensor should be disconnected from the Zoom Board). Power on the machine and see if the problem repeats.
- If the problem does not repeat, use process of elimination to determine which accessory is causing the issue to repeat. The issue could be the Logic Board, the accessory, or the cable that connects the accessory to the Logic Board (Zoom Board in the case of the laser).
- If the problem repeats even while these accessories are disconnected, the issue is likely the Logic Board, the Amplifier Board, or the cable that connects them.
If the machine does not have any of these accessories, or if the problem repeats even while these accessories are disconnected, the issue is likely the Logic Board, the Amplifier Board, or the cable that connects them.
