VAS-500 Calibration Fails

VAS-500 Calibration Fails

Problem

This article applies to P2 machines with the additional VAS-500

The VAS Sensor does not show up in InSpec, is detected but does not measure or the calibration fails.

Solution

The following steps describe how to check the cable that connects the VAS-500 to the machine.

  1. Power down and unplug the machine

  2. Remove the Z-axis cover of the machine

  3. Remove the Zoom Board cover

  4. Identify the cable that connects the VAS to the Zoom Board

  5. Doublecheck the cable combination and color-coding of the connectors
Pay special attention to the white and green cables

In case cables are connected incorrectly, the cables can be swapped. For more information contact the Micro-Vu support team.

Another potential issue could be a cable inserted too far into the green connector like shown in the following image:

If this is the case, press down the orange lever with a slotted screwdriver, remove and carefully reinsert the cable into the connector.

Power on the machine, launch InSpec and test if the VAS-500 measurement values are displayed.
