Checking Encoder Limits in Motoscope

Checking Encoder Limits in Motoscope

  1. Access Motorscope Motorscope Access

  2. Go to View Tunning and select the axis as circled in the image below:

  3. Move the selected axis from left to right, all the way to the maximum positive position. When crossing the index mark, an ‘i' should appear and when reaching the positive limit, 'Pos’ should appear as circled in red in the image below:

  4. Move the selected axis from right to left, all the way to the minimum negative position. When crossing the index mark, an ‘i' should appear and when reaching the negative limit 'Neg’ should appear as circled in red in the image below:

If either one of the limits is not recognized by Motoscope an encoder replacement might be needed for Vertex 261- 34X, X and Y axis.

For Excel 51X-2500 models all axis and Vertex 261- 34X, Z axis, the limits are magnets glued to the stages near the encoder scale that can be visually spotted.
